The Wyoming Division of State Parks, Historic Sites and Trails is offering several opportunities for volunteers interested in contributing to several fun, family events.
Several of those events include the Summer Outdoor Slam on June 8, a trail building/maintenance day, both at Curt Gowdy State Park, and a Wyoming Statehood celebration at the Historic Governors’ Mansion on June 29.
The division is requesting various types of assistance for the Summer Outdoor Slam such as registering participants, directing traffic and helping with the canoeing and kayaking activities, both on and off the water. The event will last from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.
On June 15 a trail building/maintenance day at Curt Gowdy State Park will take place from 9 a.m, - 4 p.m. Lunch will be provided for all volunteers as will all required tools. The project is to maintain, repair and build the park’s highly popular trail system.
Also, on June 29, the Historic Governors’ Mansion will host Wyoming Day, a celebration of the Cowboy State’s admission to the union (July 10, 1890.) The celebration needs volunteers to help demonstrate “period-specific” games for kids. The event is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
