Construction on the dam at Guernsey Reservoir has progressed to the point where the road is now open and traffic is allowed to cross the structure.
Begun in 2012, the $7.8 million project has improved safety and modified the construction of the dam.
Supervised and funded by the Bureau of Reclamation and awarded to Moltz Constructors, Inc. of Cody, the project involved the refurbishing of the south spillway, construction of a filter in the dam embankment near the north spillway and construction of a new parapet wall on the crest of the dam. The project is nearly completed.
