General Information

Save the Date

WyoParks Eclipse, Sponsored by Sierra Trading Post: Glendo, Guernsey, Edness K Wilkins and Boysen State Parks are in the path of totality with events planned at all four parks. Eclipse Day Passes are available online and good for all four parks plus it includes free eclipse glasses and a souvenir parking pass!

Monday, August 21 from 8 a.m. - 3:00 p.m

  • Sierra Trading Post will offer free eclipse glasses onsite and at their retail locations, provide activities for kids, conduct gear demos and handout giveaways.
  • The Official Optics Sponsor, Mead Instruments, has graciously donated telescopes for stargazing parties leading up to the eclipse and solar scopes during the eclipse. Experts will explain the rarity of a solar eclipse in the contiguous US and share the latest in technology.
  • The University of Wyoming is part of a program with NASA that will record a live feed of the eclipse as it's happening. UW will be stationed at multiple sites across Wyoming, including our state parks, broadcasting the feed. They will teach kids how to make pinhole cameras and professors will conduct a series of lectures relating to astronomy. Visitors can take advantage of free Pepsi products and UW SWAG!
  • Park staff at each location have activities planned throughout the weekend including interpretive hikes, stargazing parties, and campfire lectures.
  • Camping is available at all four parks but most sites have been pre-booked.
