Group Picnic Shelters  - GUERNSEY

Guernsey State Park has eight (8) shelters that may be used for group picnics. Many of the Guernsey State Park picnic shelters were constructed by Civilian Conservation Corps and provide a one-of-a-kind picnicking opportunity.

Shelters suitable for group picnic activities may be found at:

  • Sandy Point Campground, the “Castle”
  • Spotted Tail Campground
  • Sitting Bull Day Use Area
  • Red Cloud Campground
  • Black Canyon Point Camping Area
  • Long Canyon Campground
  • And below the dam at the Spillway Day Use Area

All picnic shelters are useable throughout the year.

  • The group shelter in Sandy Point Campground and the shelter at the Castle may be reserved for $35/day plus a $35 refundable damage deposit.
  • All shelter use at the park requires the appropriate SPHS&T daily use permits.
