Historical Features - OREGON TRAIL RUTS

About:

Oregon Trail Ruts State Historic Site (OTRSHS) is itself a historical feature. It is one of the most spectacular locations to see evidence of the great westward movement of the 1800’s. The Oregon Trail, California Trail and the Mormon Trail all passed through this specific area on their great journey west. Wagon ruts nearly five feet deep that were created by the thousands of wagons carrying pioneers west are clearly visible. Visitors will be able to get an up close experience of what it may have been like to travel through this historic trail corridor.

LocationLocation
OTRSHS is located 2 miles south of the town of Guernsey, WY. Once at the site visitors may take one of two short sidewalks that will lead to and past the historic trail ruts.
