FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

In addition to providing prime venues to view the upcoming Great American Eclipse on August 21, Wyoming State Parks is offering a variety of eclipse, physics, math and science based programs and presentations on site to enhance the experience.

Programs are scheduled at each of the Wyoming State Parks located in the “Area of Totality;” some beginning as early as Aug. 17.

Eclipselogo            Boysen, Edness K. Wilkins, Glendo and Guernsey are all located in prime viewing areas in rural areas with a lack of light pollution.

Planning for the event has been two years in the making and has resulted in increased camping areas, special Eclipse weekend camping packages which sold out last fall and additional Day Use viewing areas.

“We are excited to host visitors from Wyoming and throughout the nation coming to see this historic event,” State Parks Administrator Domenic Bravo said. “We hope they get to experience how amazing Wyoming is and come back to see us for years to come.”

Additionally, the special programing at each of the parks will feature college professors and experts in the field of astronomy and the eclipse. Telescopes provided by Meade Instruments, a Wyoming State Parks Eclipse sponsor will also be available.

Sierra Trading Post is the title sponsor of the Wyoming State Parks special Eclipse programming and will be handing out free eclipse glasses at event locations.

Persons wishing to remember their eclipse experience at Wyoming’s State Parks can purchase a variety of merchandise either on site or on line at http://wyospcr-state-wy-us.3dcartstores.com/Wyoming-State-Parks-Historic-Sites-Trails_c_15.html.

Wyoming State Parks and Historic Sites located outside the area of totality are also holding events during Eclipse weekend such as viewing parties, trail hikes, cave tours, Carissa Mine tours and many more.
