In addition to providing one of the best places to view the upcoming Great American Eclipse, Glendo State Park will provide a variety of astronomy, physics, mathematics and science based programming beginning August 18.

Most of the programming will be held at the Bennett Hill Campground and Two Moon Group Shelter and provided by professors from Millikin University (Decatur, Ill.) Colorado Springs Astronomical Society, National Solar Observatory and NASA.

In addition to the special programming, Glendo State Park will prove to be a prime viewing area of the Eclipse since it is located in the “Area of Totality.” Also, Glendo State Park is an area void of light pollution enhancing the viewing of the Eclipse.

Visitors to Glendo State Park are encouraged to come to the park early as the first-come, first-serve campgrounds will fill up quickly. Day Use areas will be available for Eclipse viewing.

Sierra Trading Post is the title sponsor of the Wyoming State Parks special Eclipse programming and will be handing out free eclipse glasses at event locations.

On Saturday, the Town of Glendo will hold a street dance from 7 p.m. to midnight featuring Wyoming’s own Jalen Crossland, and a vendor’s marketplace. Additionally, the Wyoming State Fair in nearby Douglas concludes during Eclipse weekend.
