About Our Site - Bear River State Park


Bear River State Park is a day use only park comprised of 324 acres. It is home to small herds of bison and elk and boasts several miles of both paved and packed gravel trails. The Bear River State Park Visitor Center is home to numerous wildlife displays that showcase Wyoming’s impressive array of wildlife. It also provides visitors with State of Wyoming tourism information.

Bear River State Park hosts S'more-Gasbord Adventure, July 18

Kids are invited to Bear River State Park July 18 for the second installment of the 2nd annual S'more-Gasbord Adventure!

This is a free family friendly Kid's Extreme event that will start at 6:30 p.m. in the Rendezvous area at the south end of the park. There will be an activity for the kids in addition to making s'mores and a story around the campfire.

Refreshments will be provided. RSVPs are suggested but not required.  Please call Bear River State Park at 307-789-6540 to reserve your spot or for more information.

A third and final similar event is scheduled for Aug. 15.

Site Status


Bear River State Park is open year-round!  Check out our hours of operation to find a great time to come visit!




Park Hours:

  • October 1st - April 30th: 8am to 8pm, 7 days per week
  • May 1st - September 30th: 8am to 10pm, 7 days per week 

Visitor Center Hours:

  • 8am to 5pm, 7 days per week (except a few winter holidays)
  • Closed for lunch during the winter months (usually from 1pm to 2pm)
