About Our Site - Edness K. Wilkins State Park
Edness Kimball Wilkins State Park is just 6 miles from Casper and is noted as the perfect picnic place. Cottonwood trees shade 40 plus picnic areas of which several are within a short distance to the swimming pond.
Volleyball and horseshoe pits invite the picnickers to recreate as the burgers and brats are cooking.
2.8 miles of trail will give the food time to settle as you walk along with the cool breezes of the historical North Platte River.
EKW has been designated one of Audubon Wyoming’s important bird areas.
Sitting right in the Migratory Flyway; this bird watchers paradise can see up to one hundred different species in a season. The Park is also noted for white tail deer, mule deer and antelope, along with several small animals such as prairie dogs, 13 lined ground squirrels, red fox, kit fox and gray fox.
