FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Special programming focusing on the Great American Solar Eclipse, owls, moths and the Native American perspective on conservation issues will be featured at Edness K. Wilkins State Park during Eclipse weekend.

The programs, beginning Aug. 18, will be held at the Mountain View Group Shelter.

In addition to the special programming, Edness K. Wilkins State Park will prove to be a prime viewing area of the Eclipse since it is located in the “Area of Totality.” Also, EKW is an area void of light pollution enhancing the viewing of the Eclipse. Day Use areas will be available for Eclipse viewing.

Also, Aug. 18-20, Lona Patton will bring several "former" wild horses to EKW. She finds her horses through BLM's adoption program and trains them to ride.  She will be on hand to explain how the adoption program works and will share her experiences with the visitors to the park.

Sierra Trading Post is the title sponsor of the Wyoming State Parks special Eclipse programming and will be handing out free eclipse glasses at event locations.
