About Our Site - Bear River State Park


Bear River State Park is a day use only park comprised of 324 acres. It is home to small herds of bison and elk and boasts several miles of both paved and packed gravel trails. The Bear River State Park Visitor Center is home to numerous wildlife displays that showcase Wyoming’s impressive array of wildlife. It also provides visitors with State of Wyoming tourism information.

Bear River State Park Hosts Family S'more Event


Children young and old are invited to attend the family-friendly S’MORE-Gasbord Adventure at the Bear River State Park Rendezvous Area, July 17 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Sit around the campfire and roast marshmallows for s’mores while listening to a special guest read a story for the kids. After the story and eating s’mores kids are invited to participate in an activity such as a scavenger hunt or gunny sack races. Site Status


Bear River State Park is open year-round!  Check out our hours of operation to find a great time to come visit!




Park Hours:

  • October 1st - April 30th: 8am to 8pm, 7 days per week
  • May 1st - September 30th: 8am to 10pm, 7 days per week 

Visitor Center Hours:

  • 8am to 5pm, 7 days per week (except a few winter holidays)
  • Closed for lunch during the winter months (usually from 1pm to 2pm)
